IDEA SEVEN: Stop using the word "phone"

It's just so last century--it drives me nuts.

(edit: ok, it doesn't really drive me nuts...i just have a vested interest in words and how they're used)

I like the German word, "handy"..."mobile" is a little officious...the hip-hop "celly" isn't bad...

(edit: or is it "cellie?")

I think we say: 'Call me on my cell.' I always liked that. 'Cell' is close to other cool words, like 'compartment', 'node' and 'sect'. What do you think?

no need for apologies, raymi...i never mentioned by bday till this year

i like crackberry (love the sound of it) but i think that in today's world a nomenclature needs to be one syllable to be successful.

I agree,nk, about cell being a cool word though it seems to me that, like basic telephony, it may soon be a defunkt technology in favor of GPS and other kinds of wireless.
